QUALITY OF CARE EXPERIENCE

HEALTHCARE SETTINGS
This important research program will work with key health partners (Southern Adelaide Local Health Network (SALHN), Northern Adelaide Local Health Network (NALHN), Melbourne Health and Metro North Health in Queensland) and older patients to develop, validate and implement new health economic measurement tools to assess quality of care and quality of life in sub-acute healthcare settings, supporting a higher quality, efficient and fairer health system for older people.
The quality of care experience and quality of life tools will help policy makers and practitioners across health systems to make better decisions about the care provided to older people.
The research will:
-
Develop, validate and implement preference-based quality of life and quality of care experience measures for clinical care
-
Generate new evidence-based guidance to ensure that older people with cognitive impairment and dementia are empowered to self-assess their own quality of life and quality of care experience
-
Apply the newly developed economic evaluation methods to clinical interventions/new models of care targeting older people
